About Fairfield, MT - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Fairfield is located in Teton County, Montana, approximately 35 miles northwest of Great Falls and 115 miles south of the Canadian border. Established in 1909, Fairfield is home to a population of approximately 700 residents and a diverse business community based largely in agriculture, retail, and construction. Economic amenities such as low unemployment, recent positive job growth, and a cost of living index nearly 15% lower than that of the national average continue to draw new residents and businesses to the city each year.

Fairfield is served by the Fairfield Public School District and is located within 35 miles of the University of Great Falls and Great Falls College MSU. Known as the “Malting Barley Capital of the World,” the city boasts more than 140,000 acres of cropland dedicated to the production of malt barley.

Situated along the Eastern Slope of the Rocky Mountain Front, Fairfield is a haven for outdoor sports and recreation enthusiasts. The city’s semi-arid climate produces perfect weather for enjoying year-round outdoor sports and recreation at nearby points of interest such as Freezeout Lake, a designated Wildlife Management Area that is the primary migration point for hundreds of thousands of snow geese and over ten thousand tundra swan during March and April of each year. The lake is a popular destination for numerous types of recreational activities, including waterskiing in summer, iceboating in winter, and hunting of waterfowl, muskrat, and upland game birds during designated hunting seasons.

Sun River Canyon offers excellent hiking, camping, and wildlife viewing. Located just 15 miles south of town, the canyon is home to one of the largest bighorn sheep herds in the nation. Each November the canyon is filled with the sounds of clashing horns as the rams battle each other for leadership rights over the herd.

Fairfield is home to Harvest Hills Golf Course, an 18-hole regulation golf course that features a clubhouse, lounge, and driving range. Among the city’s many annual festivals and special events is Swim Day, held each July at Fairfield Municipal Park, and the Christmas Stroll, held each December in downtown Fairfield.

Conveniently situated along U.S. Highway 89 at the base of the Rocky Mountain Front, Fairfield is a great place to experience the beauty and tranquility of Central Montana!
