Belt is located within 20 miles of Sluice Boxes State Park, a rugged expanse of soaring limestone cliffs and steep canyons situated in Belt Creek Canyon that offers excellent hiking, trout fishing, and backcountry camping.

The Belt Commercial Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and includes the Belt Museum, home to an impressive collection of photos, historical records, and works by local artists housed in the circa-1895 old jail building adjacent to Belt Creek.

The annual Belt PRCA Rodeo attracts rodeo enthusiasts from miles around with two days of action-packed entertainment in the form of bareback bronc riding, bull riding, steer wrestling, and more. The PRCA sanctioned event is held each June at the Belt Rodeo Arena located just south of town at Montana Ranches at Belt Creek.
